Can planning your shopping list save you money?

Can planning your shopping list save you money?

Seems like an answer which is quite simple, and in fact, it is. Of course planning for shopping, whether it is groceries or clothing, will result in savings. No matter what you are buying, when you plan out your purchases and compare you are bound to find the best possible pricing.

When you plan, you typically compare. This might include comparing top brands online or comparing catalogues, styles and the latest fashions. In doing this you are going to find the styles you love and want to wear and of course have the opportunity to compare prices along the way as well. Win-win situation for the at home shopper. If you would like to compare some catalogues then Love Catalouges is a great place to start.

In many cases, when you plan you also are going to learn when the best times to shop are. For example, buying winter coats in the dead of summer might not make sense to some. But, as a thrifty shopper, you know this is when deals are found. And, you avoid the long lines, hassles, and you are going to avoid crowds fighting for the same item when the colder weather rolls on in.

You can plan out items you are going to buy as well. Sometimes this means going with generic items to save on the cost of brand names. In other instances, you might choose bundle packages or other bulk products so you can save on the price of items you are going to buy.

As is the case with anything you do (whether it is shopping or preparing for a big match or presentation at work) planning is going to result in better execution. So, if the time has come to buy new clothes for the kids or yourself, if you want to save, find what you need, and find the best designer trends and fashions, plan ahead, map it out, and see how much you can really save in the process.

Happy Holidays!

Saving Money When Shopping With an Online Catalogue

In today's post, I'd like to talk about ordering from an online catalogue. We all know that it often lets you spread the cost of your payments, but you could save money in the process, too. Want to know 3 ways you can get more for your buck when using these retailers? Read along!

1. CHECK SOCIAL MEDIA

More retailers are reaching out to customers on social media sites like Facebook and Instagram. These pages are a great way to save money when online shopping. You'll be able to find the latest discounts on products and services, as well as industry news and information from your favorite retailers. If you want to save even more cash, why not sign up for a retailer's mailing list, too? You can have the latest discounts delivered to your email inbox on a regular basis. If you receive too many messages, you can unsubscribe at any time.

2. REDEEM LOYALTY POINTS

Some online catalogues let you collect points when you make purchases, which you can redeem on future orders and save cash. Although these loyalty schemes differ depending on the company, they have become increasingly popular in recent years. You can check the number of points you have accumulated by logging into your personal account on the retailer's website or by contacting their customer service team.

3. USE A COMPARISON WEBSITE

If you're not sure which retailer to shop with, use a comparison website like shop2day which will list the cheapest retailers that sell the products you're looking for. These sites not only save you cash but will prevent you from having to spend ages searching the Internet for the best deals and promotions. Once you've found a few retailers that you're interested in, you can head to their website and check out their products. If you want to spread the cost of your order, you can also apply for a credit account, which will enable you to budget more effectively. If you're accepted for an account, you can repay your order in installments.

Once you know these 3 simple steps, you're all set!

Happy shopping!

SUMMER STYLE: LITTLE WHITE DRESS

Looking for a perfect little white dress for summer? I've got one for you!

I think some of my best purchases ever are pieces that I can style and wear for many different occasions. Today's little number is definitely one of them! This Newchic little white dress is perfect for summer events (day or night), graduation (just how I did - see it on my Instagram), birthdays, and I think the most obvious - an engagement, bridal OR bachelorette parties!

I think one of the reasons why this dress is so perfect for all those occasions is because it is more conservative in the front, and a little more fun in the back! Is there anything sexier than lace details and an 'open' back?!

I will, however, add that this Newchic dress is more on a cheap side, meaning it looks great (granted you get the right fit), but its quality is definitely not top notch. As pretty as the lace looks, it is very delicate. But then again, if you plan on wearing this dress to your bachelorette party, you would more than likely get it ruined anyway after a long night of partying. Just saying... #shameless

Fact: I am the first one to admit that most of my clothes are bargains = not the best quality items BUT some great looking pieces. Having said that, if you take care of your wardrobe right, who cares it didn't cost a fortune. You still win. ;)

Now I want to hear from you... What occasion would you wear this little white dress to?

Have a great week!

QUEENSTOWN PREMIUM OUTLETS SHOPPING HAUL

A week ago, I had a pleasure of partnering up with the Queenstown Premium Outlets in Maryland to get my summer shopping started and fill you in on all the great deals the outlets have to offer right now.

I have to say, this couldn't be a better timing for me, as I was preparing for an upcoming trip and needed to stock up on some pieces. On top of that, summer is just around the corner and the Memorial Day Weekend is just few days away! Needless to say, I thought sharing my shopping experience with you today would be a good idea. Below you can find out more about what I got at the outlets, what are their current deals and summer trends. I hope you enjoy it!

Window display done right! I loved these two BCBGMAXAZRIA dresses.

Calvin Klein was the first shop I walked into and oh boy, was I happy! They have so many colorful wallets and bags at the moment that I think are perfect summer statement pieces. Plus, you can't walk passed the 40% off deal without getting something!

I also could not leave without the Calvin Klein's classic logo bralette ($20). Simple yet classic, comfortable AND affordable. A total must have.

I was almost done with my shopping spree when I decided to walk into Pacsun and... could not resist! They have so many cute summer pieces right now! I would especially recommend checking out the Kendall and Kylie's summer collection.

I walked away with this adorable Kendall and Kylie collection top ($25). I love the neck detail, and  I think the contrasting plunging neckline makes it that much more interesting. It's quite possibly my favorite trend this season, so I will be definitely buying more pieces in this style for the summer.

At Old Navy, I stocked up on so many goodies that I just couldn't wait to boast about them!
I've been looking for a one-piece swimsuit  ($20) for a while and it took just one visit to the Queenstown Premium Outlets to find the right one! I love the scalloped details along the sides, the halter top and the fact that this bathing suit is made of a thick material, so it can double up as a top worn with some cute skirts or denim shorts.

I usually don't shop at Old Navy, but I really lucked out during my visit to the outlets. Besides the swimsuit and few other pieces, I found the cutest workout gear as well! This top and leggings just screamed summer and California to me, so I had to buy it. It also didn't hurt that the entire store was 50% off... How could I not take advantage of such an amazing deal?!

I also highly recommend stopping by this beauty outlet. We all know makeup tends to be really pricey, especially the high end products, so any time you have a chance to save a few dollars, you should take it. I got some great makeup from Clinique, Mac and Estee Lauder, and was really grateful for all the help I received from the ladies at the store.

Another great feature worth mentioning were the food trucks! All the running around from one store to another surely can make you hu(a)ngry, and I think there's nothing better to take a break and enjoy your food just a step away from your favorite store!

If you live in the Maryland, PA or Delaware area, Queenstown Premium Outlets is a great place for you! You can not only save 25 to 65% all year round, but you can also expect to find extra savings during their Memorial Day Sidewalk Sale running from:

Friday, May 27 to Monday, May 30.

Good luck with your shopping!

Special thanks to the Queenstown Premium Outlets for sponsoring this post.

WEEKEND STYLE: PANDA HOODIE

I may be a fashion blogger and dress up a lot, but most of the time, you'll find me wearing something very casual. In fact, everybody who sees me on the regular basis always makes fun of me, because outside of the blog, I like to be very comfortable. Like sweats all day kind of comfortable. #shameless

If I'm lucky and skip wearing sweats, you will most likely find me in jeans. These distressed ones from Blue Faith Denim are definitely my favorite ever since I found them. I always get many compliments on this pair, so make sure you check the Blue Faith website.

As for this Newchic panda hoodie, how adorable is it?! I love the fact that I can give my good ol' grey sweatshirt a break and have fun with this little number. It's seriously the cutest and so soft.
